Mid Century Extension
This project involved a significant alteration and extension of a 1970s mid-century home in Farm Cove. The existing structure had good bones, but it needed to be reconfigured to better serve a family with teenagers. The client required a new carport, additional storage, and a dedicated wing housing a new bedroom, bathroom, and living space.
The goal was to extend the home without compromising its original architectural character. We designed the new bedroom and living pavilion to enclose a private, sheltered pool courtyard, creating a stronger connection between the indoors and the landscape. To link the new carport to the main house, we introduced a brick-clad storage anchor that mirrors the home's original materiality, ensuring the addition feels cohesive rather than attached.
We focused on precision and build quality throughout the project, working in close collaboration with Absolute Construct. This commitment to detail was recognized with a 2025 Gold Master Builders Award. The completed home is now a functional, resilient living space that maintains the original mid-century intent while meeting the needs of a modern family.
